How to Stop Facebook From Sending Emails to Your Email Address
Facebook allows users to stay in constant touch with friends' and family
members' updates and comments through notifications. You can choose to
send notices to your email and your mobile phone when people post to
Facebook. With a large number of contacts who stay busy on the site,
such notifications may become overwhelming. You can stop notifications
from specific people, prevent certain types of notifications or change
how you receive notifications by changing the settings on your Facebook
account.
1. Press the small arrow in the upper right corner of your Facebook page. Slide down and click on "Account Settings."
2. Press "Notifications" in the menu on the left side of the page.
3.
Hover over the envelope icon to the right of each entry under the
Recent Notifications section at the top of the page. Click to stop
receiving emails for the types you want to prevent. Click again to
re-enable the notifications.
4.
Scroll down to the section titled All Notifications. Click the "Edit"
link on the right side of each line and then uncheck each box under the
envelope to stop receiving that type of email notification.
5. Click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of each section before moving on.
